Toolesboro is home to one of the best-preserved ancient cultures in North America, who thrived during this time period from 200 B.C - 300 A D! The five acre site includes several large surviving mounds and an education center with demos about our history nearby as well which you're able explore on foot or by car at any point that suits your needs most conveniently

Located just off the banks of The Iowa River, near its discharge into Mississippi river is this Havana Hopewell culture earthwork site that has been preserved for all to see. These mounds are known as a National Historic Landmark by both state historical society and federal government alike due in part because they're so well-preserved after years under cultivation soil which made them easy pickings when plowing fields during farming era Midwest farms expansion westward across America's landscape

The people of the Hopewell cultural tradition took advantage

of their natural resources, such as riverine alluvial soil rich with wild plants and fish. They cultivated this land by adding shellfish or waterfowl onto what they had already gathered from hunting parties; these were supplements not replacements for more traditional sources like bison (or other American mammals). The result? A surplus which required burial - usually while also displaying status markers alongside loved ones who might otherwise go hungry!

Dating back centuries ago, the Hopewell people were responsible for developing some of America's earliest trade routes. They traveled all over their vast network to bring different items such as copper from Lake Superior and sea shells acquired along with other natural resources like mica found in Appalachia while also trading mainstream goods including blades cut out using local flint stone which they mined themselves!
